An emergency humanitarian action was initiated on 31 October 2024 by the CST General Management and the CST Foundation to help people affected by flooding in the Kousseri and Maidougouri neighbourhoods of the village of Maibo in the canton of Banda.

On this occasion, a donation ceremony was organised at the Maibo gendarmerie brigade in the presence of the Prefect of Bar Kôh, Mr Ali Lamine NANINA, and the Head of the Canton of Banda, Mr Masra KOROUA. The donation consists of

  • 500 protective tarpaulins
  • 300 mats
  • 100 boxes of soap
  • 33 bags of rice weighing 50 kg (donated by the CST Foundation).

In his speech, Mr Antonin Hiroux, GM for CST, expressed the CST’s readiness to respond swiftly to this emergency by providing assistance to those affected by the floods.

As for the Prefect of the Bar Kôh department, he welcomed the CST’s highly humanitarian gesture, saying that it was perfectly in line with the Chad government’s policy.

In recent years, flooding has been a regular occurrence in these villages. The authorities have undertaken to find a new site to relocate these villages.
