Governance

Chairman

In May 2022, Olivier Parent succeeded Alexandre Vilgrain at the head of Somdia Group and has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since September 2022.

A graduate of the Arts et Métiers engineering school, Olivier Parent began his career with the Unilever group (1988-2002), holding various industrial positions in France and abroad (Vietnam).

He then joined the VIVESCIA Group as Operations Director in 2003, before being appointed successively Managing Director of two Group subsidiaries, Chamtor and Malteurop.

The ambition

Olivier Parent’s ambition is to give Somdia Group a new dynamic, combining performance and responsibility:

“Somdia is a community of men and women committed to a vision and a mission. Our mission is to offer quality products that contribute to food safety. Our goal is to serve the African continent and support its food sovereignty.”

Our committees

In 2023, to support our transformation and the deployment of our ambitions, we have adopted a new governance structure to strengthen coordination within the Group and create synergies around the ‘sugar’ and ‘cereal’ divisions that structure our business.

This renewed governance is also reflected in the introduction of new ways of leading teams: performance reviews with each subsidiary, in collaboration with the head office, to ensure rigorous monitoring of activities, as well as CSR, Risk and Ethics committees. These are all ways in which we can grow together and meet the challenges of Somdia’s future.
