A workshop organized on the theme ‘Successful Planting’ was held from 24 to 28 June at the Mbandjock site and brought together 35 participants from the agricultural technical departments of the Somdia Group’s 4 sugar subsidiaries. Over 5 days, participants discussed soil preparation, plot layout, planting methods, soil conditioning and fertilisation. Through inspiring exchanges of experience, participants benefited from the expertise of Mr Reynolds Lane, CEO of South African mechanisation company GC Tillage, and Ms Aurélie Février, Head of Fertilisation and Soil Fertility at Ercane.
The subsidiaries unanimously made a firm commitment to improving yields, in order to guarantee high-performance production.
